
Traction Therapy
Traction is a manual technique designed to reduce pressure on affected vertebral discs causing pain. Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. It can either be performed manually or mechanically. Spinal traction is used to treat herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions. It can alleviate pain from joints, sprains, and spasms. It’s also used to treat neck injuries, pinched nerves and back injuries
Traction is usually advisable in following conditions:
- Spinal nerve root impingement
- Herniated disc
- Ligament encroachment
- Joint hypo mobility
- Spondylolisthesis
- Degenerative joint disease
- Extrinsic muscle spasm
- Joint pain
