Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points used to treat pain. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians energy flow will re-balance. The frequency and number of treatments differ from person to person. Most people feel no or minimal discomfort as the fine needles are gently placed.
Common conditions treated by acupuncture:
- Low back pain
- Neck pain
- Osteoarthritis
- Respiratory disorders
- Depression
- Pain in dentistry
- Periarthritis of shoulder
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Sciatica
- Stroke
- Sprain
- Postoperative pain
Acupuncture Treatment:
- Needle insertion: Acupuncture needles are inserted to various depths at strategic points on your body. The needles are very thin and you may feel a mild aching sensation during treatment
- Needle manipulation: Your practitioner may or may not gently move or twirl the needles after placement
- Needle removal: In most of the cases, the needles remain in place for 10 to 20 minutes while you lie still and relax. Duration of the treatment will vary based on the condition of the patient
